Engines equipped with the ignition systems and fuel injection improved according to the characteristics, which they began to equip all 6- drum engines (M20/e0), and 2,0- liter M20 began to develop 125 hp. During March 1983 to model BMW 52л for the North American market (it they distinguished more developed bumpers) they installed the 6- drum engine Of m20 with a working volume of 2,7 l with the power of 129 hp with the system of injection Motronic, and in yr it they equipped with catalytic neutralizer.

Maximum speed reached 245 km/h.
