BMW X3 - this not extra-road builder. Bavarians call its "sport- active" automobile (Sports Activity Vehicle, SAV) they note that "it is capable to subjugate all roads of peace with a good and poor coating". But to is simpler name X3 "crossover".

Automobile is built on the elongated platform BMW of the third series, but it is equipped with the new all-wheel-drive transmission xDrive - multiple-disk clutch with electronic control it makes it possible to change the distribution of the torque between the front and rear wheels. But with the dynamic passage of turnings xDrive it follows also the fact so that the excess torque on the front or rear wheels would not cause premature drift or removal of machine. In this case of xDrive it works paired with the stabilization system DSC.

By the way, the entering the standard equipment stabilization system is interesting even and fact that in it appeared the new function Trailer Stability Control, which helps to avoid the "storing" of road train with towing of heavy and long trailers (for example, with the transport of launch). Furthermore, "in the base" is control system of descent from mountain HDC (Hill Descent Control) - inheritance from the collaboration with firm Land Rover.

Among those appearing after lately automobiles BMW ("seven", "five", Z4) novice is characterized by the most traditional formulation of salon - with the "classical" central console, which, as before is a little expanded to the driver. To order on the central console it will be possible to establish the colored monitor of the navigation system of size 16:9.

First time will be proposed only two six-cylinder three-liter motors - benzine by the power of 231 hp and modernized turbodizel' with system common rail of the second generation (204 hp and 410 nm). Both engines can be aggregated either with the five-stage "automaton" or with the six-stage "mechanics". In any event, in dynamics BMW X3 it will surround many in its class: the maximum speed of benzine version is 210 km/h, and the sport modification (it will be and such!) it is more rapid to 14 km/h.

World of premier "IKS -three" takes place during September at the motor- show in Frankfurt. On the Russian market BMW X3 it will appear simultaneously since the beginning of sales in Europe - during February of future year. The assembly of machines and retail prices are not thus far determined.
